Startups from the Central Europe region often have excellent products, but lack ambitions and abilites to sell them efficiently. There are only a few opportunities here, where entrepreneurs can get relevant know-how and inspiration, which is why I recommend the Global Enterpreneurship Week to everyone, who is serious with their entrepreneurship!

Running your own business means to have a vision, to have the courage to take risk and be able to constantly develop yourself. It means to have an ambition to be better than your domestic and international competition. I wish this country to keep the entrepreneurship spirit flourishing and I hope we will be keen to get medals not only in sports, but also in business, science and NGO sector. Those are the areas where the spirit of entrepreneurship is most needed.

Workshop: Robin Vaudrey, Jiří Jirásek

The workshop will provide information to the business community about financing opportunities from the new EU Investment Plan which was launched by the Juncker's Commission and the European Investment Bank in November 2014 and became operational in September 2015. Robin Vaudrey, an expert from the European Investment Fund, will provide practical tips for SMEs how to access financing from the European Fund from Strategic Investment (EFSI), be it via equity, quasi-equity, venture capital or other financial instruments. Since the EFSI has been set up to provide financing for projects that are deemed high-risk, it can be of benefit to small, innovative companies starting up, which investors tend to see as presenting higher risk than more established or larger companies.

The changes in perception of entrepreneurship in the CR

This workshop is targeted at people who want to learn interesting facts and figures about how entrepreneurship is perceived in the Czech republic and in Europe. It is based on a study conducted by Amway every year since 2010 and published during GEW. This year, the survey included more than 50 thousand participants from 44 countries and aimed at finding out what the opinions are about entrepreneurship and monitor the trends in entrepreneurship potential or factors that make people choose not to engage in their own business. The results of the survey will be compared in time and with other similar studies.

Workshop:

Marian is going to share real stories that brought him 5 most important lesson he learned along building his company:
